Among the second model of Explorer ii, Ref. 16550, this model is equipped with an ivory dial that is said to have existed only for a short period of time in its early years. The ivory dial is silver in color, whereas the indexes and hands are black on the normal white dial. Furthermore, the two lines of superlative chronometer officially certified at the 6 o’clock position on the dial are blank and positioned almost in the center of the dial, a design known as a center split or rail dial . Comments. There are some subtle marks on the luminescence of the hands, but they do not seem to be noticeable, and combined with the unique bezel font, the ivory dial has a nice atmosphere. The bracelet is Ref. 78360, ff 501, clasp cord is j (made around 1985), missing one piece but long enough. It is in good condition with minimal elongation. Comes with a rare period Rolex box.
