A rare and honest Explorer II Steve McQueen , featuring a perfect ‘MK IV’ matte dial with matching creamy tritium lume plots and hands The 1655 Explorer II is one of the most collectable vintage Rolex’s on the market, famous for their big bold orange Freccione 24 hour hand. A few of these Steve McQueen’s aged over time in such a way that the hand turned a ghostly white, earning the Albino nickname and matching the creamy Tritium lume perfectly. In superb condition, this iconic sports watch from 1979 sports the correct Mk IV dial with its famous Frog’s Foot Coronet and matching Mk III bezel. These are extremely hard to find nowadays with its original ‘thin font’ stainless steel bezel (as most were routinely replaced by Rolex during service).
